Be prepared to wait during peak times, but as many customers say, the delicious offerings make it absolutely worth it.
DELICIOUS! Friendly staff. Be prepared to wait if you go at peak times for coffee and lunch. WORTH THE WAIT. We got the smoked salmon/lox toast and it had capers and purple onion (not too much) dill and wow. Just wow. We got it on sourdough but there are options even gluten free. A smoothie (superfruit) that even the picky niece loved. Chicken empenada, and loved it.. again a picky eater and she loved it. I loved my lavender iced latte with oat milk. Lilikoi tea for my sister, and my other sister was throuroughly boring g with water. Yep boring. The coffee menu even had Affogato.. Had I noticed before I had ordered I'd have had to get 2 coffee drinks. Zoom a zoom zoom. I loved the staff. And people were pleasant even with the wait. They give you pagers so relax while you wait. Love the coastal decor and there seemed to be plenty of seating. The pastry options should be illegal. My keto diet is never shaken but at Momona bakery it died a rapid death. No worries tomorrow is a new day. Have the pastry, have the food, have the coffee. All of it is delicious and fresh and made right there. I am going again tomorrow. My momma didn't raise no fool. I have reviewed so many coffee shops and been at even more than that and this spot holds the gold. I ABSOLUTELY will return every time I can. Parking requires patience but is free. Beautiful location and tell them Meek sent you. You will thank me.
We went there on Thursday about 1130a. There's sufficient free parking, however so is close to the harbor...not a pleasant smell for a boujee looking bakery. Inside, it's modern, clean and kool place. I think it's an old bank because there's a private area in a vault. They serve, sandwiches and pastries. We like the pastries, just a little big and heavy. But... we would go here again
The pastries here all look so good! The staff very helpful with choosing what kind of coffee they would recommend for your preference. I spent $60 for 3 pastries and 3 coffees. It is a bit more on the pricey side. But I think it’s very much worth it.
The croissants here are massive!!! SO good! We had plain butter and chocolate pastry cream. They were delicious! They also had a nice clean bathroom. Apparently the building used to be a bank and it has the vault door open for extra seating.
Such a quaint place to start our day off. We both ordered a regular coffee which was so tasty. We split a ham & cheese croissant & an apple tart. Asked for them to be warmed up - wow!! Worth the vacation calories indeed! Perfect start to our day
This café will absolutely wow you! Momona Bakery is a true gem with an incredible variety of croissants and baked goods. From savory to sweet, every item is thoughtfully made and full of flavor. The space is adorable—cozy, welcoming, and full of charm. I truly can’t recommend this place enough. Whether you’re looking for a quick treat or a relaxing spot to unwind, Momona Bakery delivers every time!
The staff? Amazing, 10/10 The pastries? Delicious. Flaky. Devoured on sight The drinks? Very good. Guzzled. We got the steak and chicken empanadas. Both were very very good and would love to come back for. We also got the fruit tart and the walnut croissant. Fruit tart was absolutely delicious, the fruits were fresh and the custard was smooth. The pastry was really light and flaky without being overly dry. The walnut croissant is very sweet and almost reminds me of sticky toffee but it’s really good.
This place is bright, clean, sleek and hip. The lattes were good, not great, but foamy enough. My breakfast croissant sandwich I would not get again. It was a hearty sandwich, perhaps enough for 2. But its steep price of $16, and its flavor as unnecessarily complicated with a lot of stuff, it was not for me. Also, the scrambled eggs were really broken down to small pieces and the bacon was not flavorful. The person I ate with loved their veggie empanadas. But the absolute King of the meal was the Napoleon, with dulce de leche inside the layers, topped off with thick merengue. I was in complete heaven. I now dream of that pastry and strongly suggest that if you love dulce de leche layered amidst crispy flaky layers, with white merengue, this is a must try if you are in Kahalui. The 1 star was lost because of the ho-hum lattes and the unnecessarily complicated breakfast croissant sandwich. I have yearn to return here for sure, and I will try one of their many other pastries to enjoy with coffee, plus get that delightful Napoleon again!
